John Robson Blackman


John Robson Blackman will graduate from Spartanburg High School in May 2012. A four-year member of the varsity lacrosse team, John is the leading scorer in South Carolina and ranks among the top 10 players in assists, ground balls and faceoff percentage. John was named to the South Carolina All-State Team in both 2010 and 2011, and was an All-Region selection in 2009. He is a former member of the SHS varsity cross country team and the junior varsity golf team.

A recipient of the Palmetto Fellows Award and a Wofford Merit Scholarship, John has a 4.6 GPA and was named an AP Scholar with Honor. At Spartanburg High School, John has served as a student council senator, as president of the Tippers Service Club and is an active member of Interact, the National Honor Society and Young Life. An Eagle Scout with Troop 1, John represented Spartanburg High School at the 2011 Palmetto Boys State.

Joseph Frank Nelson

Joe Nelson will graduate from Richland Northeast High School (Columbia) in June, 2012. He is a founding member of the RNE varsity boys lacrosse team and finished as the school's all-time scorer. He finished his senior season as the third leading scorer in South Carolina, and was named the Midlands Region Player of the Year. He was named to the All-Region First Team in 2011 and 2012 as well as making the All-Lower State team. Joe also was co-captain on the varsity swim team his senior year.

A recipient of the Palmetto Fellows Award and a Daniel Finalist Scholarship, Joe has a 4.9 GPA and is an AP Scholar with Distinction. He was named the Outstanding Newspaper Staff Member at RNE where he was the co-editor of the school newspaper. Joe was vice-president of National Honor Society, a member of Hope 365 (service organization), Young Life and drummer of his church youth band.
