Independent Interim Projects
On-Campus Projects with Off-Campus Activities
Overseas or Domestic Travel/Study group Interim projects
Students participating in Overseas or Domestic Travel/Study group Interim projects should log in to their Wofford online application to access their pre-departure forms. All forms must be submitted to the Office of International Programs by the deadline indicated.
All students will be covered by Wofford International Insurance or the study abroad organization's insurance (when appropriate). Information about Wofford's International Insurance coverage can be found on the website. Students on all travel/study projects will be billed the college's Risk Management Fee ($110 for those projects which require international insurance; $70 for those projects which are covered by a study abroad provider's insurance or which are domestic in nature).
Also, all students participating in a domestic or overseas travel/study project continue to be governed by the rules and regulations of both the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Wofford College Honor Code.
The documents are all downloadable and must be completed, signed properly, and received by Wofford College before any student may be cleared for participation in the Interim travel/study project in which the student is enrolled.
The proper completion of each of the forms--except the Medical Form--requires the signature of a parent or guardian, whether or not the student is 21 years of age or older. For the Release, the student must sign, with both the student's and parent or guardian's signature being properly witnessed and dated. The Statement of Good Health is to be signed by the examining physician.
Participation in the project also requires that the student be enrolled in an insurance program which provides, throughout at least the full duration of the off-campus portion of the project, continuous suitable coverage for the expense of medical treatment for illness or injury (preferably including provision for emergency medical evacuation and assistance) no matter where the student is when such coverage might be needed. Enter the data regarding insurance where asked for on the Medical Service Authorization form. In addition to this all travel/study participants will be required to purchase the insurance from Cultural Insurance Services International.
While normally not a requirement for participation in the project itself, the Leave Permission Form is necessary should a student wish to leave the project group for a free-time excursion during the off-campus portion of the project. Without submission of this form, the student cannot participate in the project.
The students should carefully review with their parents the Refund Policy, which must also be signed and returned.
Students participating in Independent Interim projects
Students participating in an independent project (numbered 200-299) should complete the required Independent Interim Travel Registration and enter appropriate dates of travel. As part of this registration, students are also required to submit the Interim Release (found via the travel registration website). The release is downloadable and must be completed, signed properly, and received by Wofford College before any student may be cleared for participation in the Independent project in which the student is enrolled. Note: Students traveling overseas will be billed $110 for the College's Risk Management fee (this includes international insurance.)
