WoC 101 Wofford on Call (WoC) is the college’s telephone fundraising program. Each semester, Wofford students contact thousands of alumni, parents and friends of the college to ask for donations. The majority of the gifts are designated for the Annual Fund, although the donor can choose to restrict the gift to a specific fund or project if they choose.
WoC employs 30 to 35 students who are well trained ambassadors of the college. In 2008, the Wofford on Call program recorded more than 2,700 pledges totaling over $730,000! It is the single most effective program for increasing the number of donors to the Annual Fund.
Wofford on Call is managed by the Office of Annual Giving. If you have questions or comments, please contact Amanda Kilbourne ‘08, Director of Wofford on Call, or Lisa De Freitas ‘88, Director of Annual Giving.

Additional Objectives WoC’s main purpose is to increase donations to the college; however, there are other objectives which benefit the constituent, the college and the caller. |
| Alumni and friends foster a relationship with the student caller by taking the opportunity to enjoy a conversation about campus changes, college activities and programs. |
Accurate records are vital to college operations. Our callers verify and update biographical information during each phone conversation. |
| WoC students learn marketable fundraising and communication skills in a supportive, team environment. Callers set pledge and dollar goals--powerful motivators for success. | |
