That is why the current purchasing policy includes ENERGY STAR certified products in all related areas

Wofford has also adopted operation 6Sense: A series of six questions to be answered to certify that future purchases are environmentally preferable and make good environmental "sense."

Questions include:

1) Does the product have a high recycled/post consumer content?
2) Is the product reusable?
3) What is the product lifecycle?
4) Was the product produced locally or regionally?
5) Can the product by recycled or disposed of safely?
6) Overall, is the product the least environmentally damaging throughout it’s lifetime?

Making green purchases helps conserve natural resources and energy. It brings awareness of environmental issues. But, most importantly, it improves the health of students, staff, faculty, and the community that surrounds the campus.
