Energy

Even though most of our energy currently comes from coal, oil and natural gas, we are aware of the problems that come from our reliance on fossil fuels.

They are all finite resources that will eventually run out or will become too expensive to keep using. These types of fuels also cause air, water and soil pollution in addition to producing greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

Sustainability

Wofford's Sustainability Committee/PCC Task Force

To help make this change, Wofford's Sustainability Committee/PCC Task Force has created a sub-committee to begin researching and designing an institutional plan to purchase at least 15% of its electricity from renewable sources.

Additionally, the sub-committee aims to collaborate with other institutions of higher learning in the Upstate to advocate for renewable energy options at the state and corporate level.
