Program Information

Wofford College now offers a degree in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing. Drawing upon faculty success in both the teaching and practice of writing, Wofford provides courses and student publishing opportunities in fiction, poetry, plays, and the personal essay. Courses include the following:

To fulfill the requirements for a degree in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing, a student must take at least six literature courses above the 200- level and at least four creative writing courses, including an introductory and advanced course in one genre.

Other important resources available for a student of creative writing include literature courses in contemporary fiction, drama, and poetry, the Wofford Writers Series, Wofford Theatre, publication opportunities in The Journal, and The Benjamin Wofford Prize.
