Each year, students from all over the country apply for prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowships (GRF). David Harmon ’05, a NSF Fellow in Computer Science, is now associated with the computer graphics laboratory at Columbia University in New York. Most of his research, which is a blend of physics, applied mathematics and computer science, involves cloth simulation, specifically developing a "collision detection and response system for cloth that allows it to interact appropriately with itself and its environment."
