Dr. Shiflet Teaching

"People have the misconception that computer scientists sit in front of their keyboards all the time.  Knowing how to work with and communicate with other members of a team is important.  Being able to analyze a problem systematically is important."
 - Dr. Angela Shiflet, Chair, Department of Computer Science

Impressive Finish for Programming Team

A team of four Wofford students--Shay Ellison, Manan Gupta, Brad Neff, and Stephen Strickland finished second in the 2008 Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Southeastern Programming Contest in Augusta, Georgia.  The team, coached by Dr. Dave Sykes, solved all seven problems and beat many strong teams. Their achievement represents a great deal of hard work over the years, problem-solving skills, intelligence, calmness under pressure, and teamwork.  Congratulations to the team on their impressive finish!
