"How To" Week: Presentations
The Mungo Center presents a special "How To" week with four events aimed at helping you develop effective presentation skills.
All events will take place in The Mungo Center for Professional Excellence
The Michael S. Brown Village Center (formerly Phase V Bldg.)
People who know how to effectively present information are typically the most successful in all walks of life. Presenting skills are critically important. From job interviews, to pitching an idea at work, to providing information to boards or volunteer organizations, requesting promotions, getting new business… even marriage proposals. All of these are presentations of one kind or another. When you have something important to say, effective presentation skills ensure others will pay attention.
Tuesday, November 13:
“How To: Deliver an Effective Presentation,” 6 p.m.
Jennifer Dillenger, Director of Career Services, will discuss how to create and deliver a presentation that informs and influences your audience.
Wednesday, November 14:
Presentation Skills Working Session, 7 p.m.
One of the most popular interview questions is “Tell me about yourself.” Learn how to effectively present yourself during an interview, on an elevator or anytime you meet someone new. Mungo Center staff will be on hand to teach you effective delivery methods, videotape your introduction and give you positive, helpful tips on how to improve your delivery.
Thursday, November 15:
The Executive Speaker Series: Joe Pugh ’60, 11:15 a.m.
"A Lifetime of Public Speaking." Joe Pugh (Class of 1960) will discuss the importance of public speaking skills and how they can help you succeed professionally and extend your influence in the community. Since graduating from Wofford, Pugh has had more than 500 speaking engagements. He is a Distinguished Service Award recipient, given by the Wofford College National Alumni Association in 1990, and is the former president of PC/SE, a personal computer consulting company in Atlanta.
Thursday, November 15:

Mungo Center staff will be available to assist you with further work on your introduction (from the Presentation Skills Workshop) or on any presentation for which you would like assistance.
