Speaking Opportunities

Have you achieved career success? Do you work in a "hot" field? Do you have experiences to share that may benefit current Wofford students in their search for a career path? Do you enjoy speaking before large groups? If so, we invite you to be a presenter at one of several student-oriented Career Services or Center for Professional Excellence events.

Speaking time ranges from 15-20 minutes to an hour, depending on the event. Audience will vary from students only to a mix of students and Wofford employees.

Speakers are needed for the following events:

orange triangle  Career Luncheons and Dinners
(spring and fall semesters):
Several alumni are needed for each event. You should be willing to discuss your work in a particular field (business, economics, accounting, finance, English, law, etc.) and answer questions from students about your career path and the outlook for your profession.

orange triangle  Executive Speaker Series
 (throughout the year):
One speaker per event. We're looking for speakers who are recognized and accomplished leaders in their fields, with extensive public speaking experience. Discussion topics are your choice but should address professional development and leadership issues. A Q&A session will follow.

orange triangle  Sophomore Experience
 (January):
Accomplished business leaders are needed to speak to students about the keys to professional success.

If you are interested in volunteering for a speaking engagement or have questions, please contact Lisa M. Ware, Director of Outreach Programs, at 864-597-4263 or via email.
