The Bonner Scholarship provides deserving students with financial access to the Wofford education while providing them with the opportunities, resources and skills to serve humanity. A Wofford College Bonner Scholar, of which there are 60, volunteer at least ten hours each week in the Spartanburg community during the school year and 280 hours over each of at least two summers. Participate engage in meetings, discussions, and reflections designed to support his/her development as a social change agent in the world. The program shapes students into lifelong servant leaders, and actively engaged local and global citizens. Though the beneficiaries of their service are varied, all Bonner Scholars share a commitment to civic engagement, community building, diversity, international perspective, spiritual exploration and social justice.
