1) the best scholarly paper in ecocriticism by a graduate student presented at the 2007 conference.
2) the best work of environmental creative writing (any genre) by a graduate student presented at the 2007 conference.
In each category the papers will be judged by an international panel of judges.
Winners must be members of the Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment, or an international affiliate, as of June 1, 2007.
DEADLINE:
Papers must be submitted electronically, as an email attachment, by May 18, 2007.

Awards will be presented at the conference banquet.
Both awards include a prize of $100, publication in ISLE, and inclusion in the conference banquet program.
NOTE: The paper that is submitted for either of these awards must be essentially the same paper that is presented at the conference. Submissions longer than 12 pages will not be considered.
