ASLE 2007 Book of Conference Abstracts
This downloadable document is 175 pages long and contains all of the abstracts submitted by presenters. To minimize paper waste we will not provide printed copies of the book. We offer it to you here so that you may be more fully informed about each session. Abstracts are arranged by session letter and number so you may easily compare it to your conference program. Please note that abstracts appear as submitted and have not been edited.
The ASLE Conference on-line store is now closed. If you need to add a payment to an existing order, you may contact Ellen Goldey (goldeyes@wofford.edu) with the specifics of your request. Ellen will have the Wofford business office add the payment to your credit card, and the business office will send you a receipt for your purchase. If you’ve not yet made any payment, please contact Amy McIntyre, ASLE Managing Director, at asle.us@verizon.net about making your payments for the conference.
We are still accepting participants for Thursday and Saturday afternoon field trips (especially the Saturday trip to the US Whitewater Center which needs a few more people to make it happen!). Please contact Amy about your interest in any of these trips and to make a payment.
Please be aware that refund requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may not be possible this close to the conference. Refund requests should be directed to Amy at the email above.

The 2007 biennial conference of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE) will officially begin with an evening reception and plenary featuring Bill McKibben on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. For the first time ASLE will be offering morning and afternoon pre-conference workshops and seminars (led by invited facilitators) on Tuesday to allow attendees to explore certain topics in greater depth. There is no cost for these pre-conference events, but advanced registration is required. The conference will officially end at noon on Saturday, June 16, 2007, following the general business meeting.
We encourage you to take advantage of the optional trips and activities that we've arranged for you. The post conference trips and Thursday field experiences require advanced registration and payment.
