Matt Abee

Class Year: 2010
News: In March 2016, Matt Abee argued his first case before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals located in Richmond, Virginia. As an intermediate appellate court, the Fourth Circuit is only one court shy of the United States Supreme Court. Abee argued on behalf of a father residing in Mexico whose two children had been abducted by their Mother in June 2013. The international child abduction case under the Hague Convention was heard by a three-judge panel that included the Honorable Henry Floyd ‘70. Abee credits his ability to argue the case to the instruction given to him by the Honorable Dennis Shedd ’75 during Abee’s time as Shedd’s student at the University of South Carolina School of Law during the fall of 2012.
