About the Orbiting Seminar The Orbiting Seminar program was begun in 1999. Traveling by bus, the tour concentrates on a different two- or three-county area of South Carolina each year as we seek to educate participants on the rich and varied aspects of South Carolina's history. The seminar gives participants an overview of the region's past and its people as defined by the institutions that once existed there and those which continue to evolve over the years, including: - churches
- schools
- homes
- remnant industries.
Utilizing the talents of local tour guides and historians, the tour's ultimate focus is to enhance our understanding of and appreciation for the state's history and successful efforts at historic preservation. |
