The James Fund Presents: Free March Madness Stock Challenge
Would you like to acquire some investment knowledge without the risk and have a chance to take an extra $250 on Spring Break? Here is your chance! The James Fund is sponsoring a free campus-wide March Madness Stock Challenge. To enter, sign-up at some point between Tuesday, February 17th and Friday, February 20th during lunch at Burwell and Zach's. The competition will run from Monday, February 23rd through Friday, March 20th. At the end of the competition the top 10 participants will win either cash or gift card prizes, the first place winner will receive a $250 cash prize.

2009 James Fund Stock Challenge Winners
How the Competition Works:
Sign-ups will take place at tables outside of Burwell and Zach's at lunch from Tuesday, February 17 to Friday, February 20. Each participant will pick three stocks from the S&P 500 list provided at the sign-up tables. All participants must be signed up by Friday at 1 p.m. On Friday, March 6th, the competition will be cut to a group of finalists based on the top 25 portfolio returns. With a clean slate, these finalists will have the opportunity to re-pick stocks if they choose. The final round will last until Friday, March 20th. The top ten participants will receive cash and/or gift card prizes the week before Spring Break.
About the James Fund:
This organization provides Wofford students will real-life investment experience by managing a stock portfolio. Membership is open to majors and non-majors alike. Each member of the Fund is assigned one of three positions: Managing Partner, Portfolio Manager, or Research Associate. The members of the Fund also are assigned to one of several research groups: Domestic Equity and International, Domestic Equity and Alternative, Domestic Equity and Real Estate, Domestic Equity and Fixed Income. In these research groups, members research various stock options and opportunities and present them to the Fund members as a whole during their monthly meetings. The coordinator of this group is Dr. Philip Swicegood.
