Majoring in Intercultural Studies for Business

Wofford’s Intercultural Studies for Business (ISB) major combines a foreign language major, a business minor, and a semester abroad in preparation for either the workplace or graduate school.  ISB majors earn internationally-recognized certificates from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages in oral and written language proficiency, a value-added credential positioning them well ahead of the competition in the job market.

The ISB major offers five tracks: Chinese, French, German, Spanish, and ISB-Culture, all of which respond to the challenges of the 21st century by combining traditional liberal arts education with preparation for the business world. A collaboration between the Department of Accounting and Finance and the Department of Foreign Languages, an ISB major prepares students for lives of leadership, service, and influence in cultural, political, and economic venues.  Discover how language, cross-cultural competency, and good business practices interface in a globalized world.
