After graduation, Noland began a career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen. When the company dissolved in 2002, she was recruited by Ernst & Young. After she began a family, Noland joined her mentor and several colleagues in starting a support network for working mothers. They founded the Working Moms’ Network for the Southeast area, one of the largest areas within E&Y with more than 2,000 employees in 16 offices. In addition to providing support and advice from veteran working mothers, the network offers quarterly conference calls, a maternity leave outreach program, and a childcare reimbursement system. The program was so successful in the Southeast that E&Y decided to extend the program nationally. Noland now works with the program on a national level, still handles a full client load, leads certain college recruiting efforts for the firm, and teaches training activities and manages staff development.
