Career Highlights:
In 2006 as assistant professor of history at Rhodes College, Pruitt
participated in the CIEE International Faculty Development Seminar, The
Changing Social Face of Brazil and in an NEH Summer Seminar on French
and Haitian revolutions. He also attended the inaugural international
Black European Studies conference in Schmitten, Germany, in 2005. Pruitt
has held several fellowships including the William Randolph Hearst
Minority Fellow at Rhodes, the Dillard University Mellon Teaching Fellow
at Emory and the Emory Minority Graduate Fellowship. Pruitt served on
the steering committee for Rhodes' African-American studies program and
during the program's first year served as the assistant director. Prior
to accepting the faculty position at Georgia Gwinnett College, Pruitt
served as assistant dean for academic and student support services at
Morgan State University.
