Commencement Frequently Asked Questions 

Q: When do I have to be out of my residence hall/apartment?
A: The Office of Residence Life requires that seniors be out of college housing by 5:00 p.m. on the Sunday of Commencement. Students with questions should contact Dean Brian Lemere at with any questions.

Q: Can I submit transcript requests that need to go out after I've completed my degree?
A: Yes. The Office of the Registrar encourages graduating seniors to submit transcript requests that need held until the degree is posted to submit them as soon as possible. The requests will be processed once final grades and degrees are awarded.  The transcript request form is available on the student tab of myWofford.

Q: Do I need tickets for graduation?
A: No, tickets are not needed. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Q: Where will graduation be held?
A: Graduation is held on the lawn in front of Main Building. In the event of rain, it will be moved indoors to the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

Q: Will someone be taking photos of students walking across the stage?
A: Yes. Wofford contracts with GradImages to photograph graduation and students will have an opportunity to purchase photos from the company. For more information, please visit their website.

Q: Will there be a place for my stuff during graduation?
A: Students are encouraged NOT to bring purses and valuables to graduation as there is no place to store them during the ceremony.

Q: What should I wear under my regalia?
A:  Men, it is recommended that you wear a white dress shirt and ties, dark pants and dark shoes. Jeans, tennis shoes and/or flip flops are not appropriate.
Women, it is recommended that you wear a dress and dress shoes. Please consider you will be walking up and down steps and across the stage when selecting the height of your heels. Jeans, tennis shoes and/or flip flops are not appropriate.
